North Lanarkshire is Aiming High

Yesterday SOSCN was invited to attend an out of school care development day hosted by North Lanarkshire Council. The council have invested financial resources and time in supporting out of school care services through Aiming High Scotland; as a result nearly all OSC services in the area have completed the award and some are even in the process of renewal. This is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work and commitment from OSC providers to deliver high quality services and ultimately quality experiences for children and young people.

SOSCN were delighted to be able to present North Lanarkshire council with the first Local Authority Aiming High Award in recognition of this achievement. A fantastic cake added to the celebration.

"The Third Sector Resilience Fund, which has the potential to mitigate the twin impacts of recession on some organisations of increased demand for their services and cash flow difficulties, will be open for five weeks from late October, and will provide immediate help to third sector organisations. Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 will potentially be available to Third Sector organisations which can demonstrate how the recession has led to increased demand or significantly undermined their services."
